Neo_Dullard comic, Batch 2, No. 06

During down-time (e.g. virus lockdown), I’ve found it useful to re-assess my priorities and things I’m thankful for. Hard to strike a balance, maybe?
Even if one doesn’t have many ‘things’, it’s OK to be thankful for the absence of ‘things’ that we really don’t want. Namaste.
(Family/friend drama, addiction, abuse, a mortgage, etc.)

I often wonder about the abundance of dust, so it seems fitting to articulate it.
Written in early 2020, just after social distancing restrictions were imposed in Melbourne. Working from home and being puzzled about dust mites.

I coloured these backgrounds with Prismacolor markers. Some comics are coloured pencil. I find colour more satisfying than black&white comics with stick figures. It’s simply a preference; I’m not disparaging computer graphics.

(These comics take awfully long to ink, colour and then digitise. Maybe that time investment is why many comics artists prefer computer graphics?)

Neo_Dullard comic, Batch 2, No. 03

ghgh

Created in March 2020, in the early stages of COVID-19. Began working from home and decided to reflect the reality of social isolation in monologue form. Typically, ‘Neo Dullard’ is a dialogue, but many of these characters would likely be single and child-free. Many working in hospitality or entry-level work. (?)
The characters do not have names or any obvious relationships.
In comic 03 and 04, there is an assumed caretaker relationship with the cat. (The word ‘owner’ is a bit possessive and creepy. Maybe.. ‘attendant’ ?)

I published Batch 2 of Neo Dullard on Instagram in March 2020. Early COVID.
I don’t find Instagram very useful for feedback, but I’m using it is a means of attracting an audience. Neo Dullard is not on Facebook or other social media.

I am re-posting Batch 2 into WordPress, as this may be a better platform.

Neo_Dullard comic, Batch 1, No. 18

I wrote this comic in January 2019 when the news was all hot and bothered by allegations of sexual misconduct/bribery between Donald Trump and Stephanie Clifford – aka porn star ‘Stormy Daniels‘.
The problem with topical humour is that news grows stale every day, rendering your sassy content somewhat meaningless. Perhaps some readers may enjoy my dated political humour / innuendo.
At least give me credit for adorning the Edgewood Tahoe Resort logo with vagina flowers !
